Should I Use a Cleansing Milk and Face Wash?

Should I Use a Cleansing Milk and Face Wash?

With so many different facial cleansing options around we often hear from customers wondering what the best one is to use on their face, and one of the common queries is if both a cleansing milk and face wash should be used. The answer depends on your lifestyle and what you like in a cleanser, plus what you would like to achieve. Usually, one or the other is fine for a first step cleanse, but if say you have very oily skin or work in a polluted environment, then you might like to use both.

You could use either the Advanced Cleansing Milk or Rejuvenating Face Wash as the first step in your cleansing routine, and just use these, or follow with the Purifying Face Toner, or use them both together if you like to.

The milk is an oil-based cleanser that cleanses the face while hydrating and comforting at the same time with the hyaluronic acid and the plant cleansing and conditioning extracts. The wash gives more of a thorough cleanse with fruit extracts if you prefer to use a foaming cleanser.

The cleansing milk is massaged onto skin and removed with a cotton pad, cloth or when in the shower. If you just wanted to use this then we would recommend always removing it with wet cotton pad, cloth or when in the shower, as this will ensure that everything is removed. To use the face wash you would create a foam with water and apply all over the face and neck plus remove with a wet cloth, or when in the shower.

We would normally suggest the cleansing milk for drier and sensitive skin types, and the face wash for oilier skin types, they are both suitable for everyone though, but this might help you decide on just one.

If you have no preference over the milk or wash and would like to use just one product then we would suggest the face wash, as it does give a more thorough cleanse with the cleansing active fruit extracts in the formula. If you prefer a more comforting hydrating cleanse, then I would go for the cleansing milk and thoroughly remove it with a wet cloth/ pad or when in the shower.

When it comes to skincare, the choice between a cleansing milk and a face wash often depends on your skin type and individual needs. Cleansing milks are gentle, creamy formulations designed to hydrate the skin while effectively removing makeup and impurities, making them ideal for those with dry or sensitive skin. They can provide a soothing experience, leaving the skin feeling soft and nourished. On the other hand, face washes are typically formulated to offer a deeper clean and may contain ingredients that target oiliness and acne. If your skin is combination or oily, a face wash might be more suitable for regular use. Ultimately, many people find that incorporating one product into their skincare routine – using cleansing milk for a gentle cleanse and face wash for a more thorough cleaning – provides the good results.
