Why Natural Skincare Sometimes Feels Different to Synthetic Skincare

Why Natural Skincare Sometimes Feels Different to Synthetic Skincare

At Nakin we absolutely love natural skincare and this is why it is the basis of our anti-ageing face products range. If you are new to natural skincare then you might have noticed that it can feel differently to conventional products, and even some of the big brand natural skin ranges. This all comes down to the ingredients. True natural skincare can feel amazing on skin, but it will not feel the same as a product laden with synthetic moisturisers that give a silky cocooning feel. Likewise, lots of brands use artificial scents in their products which on the face of it can seem like a lovely addition, but it has no benefits to skin and actually has a lot of controversy around it. Natural skincare does sometimes use scent but at brands like Nakin’s we use a 100% natural fragrance, and in very low quantities, to avoid causing sensitivity to the face and neck.

It is important to clarify that lots of skincare labelled as being natural is not actually that natural at all. Many of the so-called natural brands use ingredients like PEGs and silicones which can dramatically change the way a skincare product feels, giving the impression of a luxurious formula which leaves the skin feeling super soft and velvety. But these silicones and PEGS have no actual beauty benefits for skin. At Nakin we produce our natural skincare to the highest standards and these types of ingredients are on our banned list. We only use ingredients that have lots of benefits for the face and neck, or are essential for the formula.

When it comes to skincare, there's a big difference between natural and synthetic. While synthetic products can be very effective, natural skincare is highly valued for the way it fits in with our organic biology harnessing the power of nature, providing unique properties that are different than those found in chemically enhanced items. Here’s why natural skincare can often produce different results than its synthetic counterparts:

  • Natural skincare is made from minimally processed or plant active ingredients that contain vitamins, minerals and other essential nutrients. This means that natural products are able to absorb easily into the skin. When these nutrients are absorbed deeply into the skin, they can help to promote healthy cell growth, reduce inflammation, and improve the appearance of skin.
  • Natural skincare also often contains plant-based essential oils and extracts to provide additional benefits for skin health. These natural ingredients are known for their anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and hydrating properties that can help to soothe dryness, balance skin tone, and protect against environmental stressors.
  • Natural skincare also typically has a lighter texture than synthetic products, allowing it to absorb faster and deliver deep down results. Many natural product formulas are designed to be gentle enough for sensitive skin, so they can provide long-term benefits without causing irritation or redness.

Overall, natural skincare is an excellent choice for those who want to nourish their skin with natural ingredients and achieve visible results, while being kind to skin at the same time. By using products that contain plant actives and minimally processed components, you can trust that your skincare routine is doing more good than harm.

Choosing natural skincare can be a great way to ensure that your skin looks and feels its best without the use of harsh chemicals. With the right products, you can keep your skin feeling hydrated, balanced and healthy for many years to come.

Take the time to research skincare brands and ingredients so that you can make an informed decision about what is best for your lifestyle. That way, you can ensure that you are using the safest and most effective products available.
