Why Some Synthetic Skincare Has a Luxury Feel?

Why Some Synthetic Skincare Has a Luxury Feel?

Most of us will have tried pretty cheap skincare products at some point or another, and been pleasantly surprised by how it left our skin feeling. This is often because there are lots of synthetic moisturising and thickening ingredients added to cheap skincare products, and is why they give a hydrating luxury consistency and feel on our skin. However, they tend to not have many benefits other than this, in fact we have found that they are alien ingredients to our skin, and so are not as easily accepted as natural ones. You might be surprised to know that it is not just cheaper brands that use synthetic moisturising and thickening agents, as they often appear in high end products.

At Nakin we make all of our skincare to be as natural as possible, and because of these we do not use synthetic moisturising and thickening agents. This will mean that our natural anti-ageing face products can feel a little different to make other ranges.

Our products are high quality and natural, containing lots of expensive plant actives and extracts. They will feel different to many products as we do not use ingredients such as Dimethicone, PEGs, Hydroxyacetophenone and Butylene Glycol. It is not because natural ingredients are cheaper, but because we believe in using natural ingredients wherever possible, as they are so kind and nourishing to our skin. We are a small ethical UK company, and we try to make our products accessible with a great price, plus we do not have the huge corporate, marketing and dividend costs that many of the large skincare companies have.

While natural skincare like ours might not have that silky satin soft feel, it does still feel lovely on our faces with a more natural organic feel. This also means that the products can be more easily accepted by our skin, and get to work faster and more effectively. Synthetic ingredients can often leave a silky layer on the skin, which gives the impression of plumpness and hydration, but it is really more of a layer.

Natural ingredients are often considered better for our skin than synthetic ones for several compelling reasons. Firstly, natural ingredients typically contain fewer harsh chemicals and preservatives, reducing the risk of skin irritation and allergic reactions. Many natural substances are rich in vitamins, antioxidants, and essential oils, which can nourish and heal the skin more effectively than their synthetic counterparts. Additionally, natural ingredients are usually environmentally friendly, as they are biodegradable and require less energy to produce. This contrasts with synthetic ingredients, which often involve complex chemical processes that can harm the environment. Lastly, the holistic benefits of using natural ingredients promote overall well-being, as they are more likely to align with the body's natural processes. For example, natural oils can mimic the skin's own sebum production, promoting balance and hydration.

Therefore, when choosing skincare products, it is crucial to consider not only the ingredients but also their source and potential benefits. It is always wise to do research and consult with a dermatologist before incorporating any new product into your skincare routine.
