How Plant Oils in Skincare Offer Skin Boosting Antioxidants Naturally

One of the reasons that we absolutely love plant oils at Nakin is because they contain so many antioxidant vitamins and minerals naturally. This is one of the reasons that we use them so much in our natural anti-ageing face products, to offer anti-inflammatory and protective properties, as well as being incredibly healing and anti-ageing naturally. At Nakin we much prefer to use naturally occurring vitamins and minerals, as many of the synthetic vitamin A and vitamin C cosmetic ingredients are pretty harsh on our skin, whereas cosmetic plant oils are much more kinder and nourishing.

It’s a shame that plant oils can be somewhat forgotten about these days, in favour of high-tech synthetic ingredients. But at Nakin we love them and use them in all of our lotion, moisturising, serum, cream oil and balm products.

How Plant Oils in Skincare Offer Skin Boosting Antioxidants Naturally

Plant oils are a rich source of natural antioxidants, making them a highly beneficial addition to skincare routines. These oils, derived from sources such as argan, peach, and jojoba, are packed with vitamins like A, C, and E, which help protect the skin from oxidative stress caused by free radicals. Antioxidants found in these plant-based oils assist in reducing inflammation, promoting skin repair, and improving elasticity, resulting in healthier-looking skin. Additionally, plant oils are often gentle and suitable for a variety of skin types, enhancing hydration and delivering a natural, radiant glow.

One of the key benefits of incorporating plant oils into skincare is their ability to nourish and moisturise the skin. Unlike synthetic ingredients, plant oils contain essential fatty acids that can penetrate deep into the skin, providing long-lasting hydration without clogging pores or causing irritation. This makes them an ideal choice for those with dry, sensitive, or even acne-prone skin.

In addition to their hydrating properties, many plant oils also have anti-inflammatory effects on the skin. For example, jojoba oil is known for its soothing properties and can help reduce redness and irritation. Similarly, grape seed oil has antimicrobial properties that can combat acne-causing bacteria and reduce inflammation.

Furthermore, plant oils are often more sustainable and environmentally friendly compared to their synthetic counterparts. They are typically derived from renewable sources and do not require harsh chemical processes, making them a greener choice for both the skin and the planet.

It's important to note that while plant oils offer many benefits for the skin, it's essential to choose high-quality and properly formulated products like ours. Some oils such as coconut may be comedogenic (pore-clogging) in certain individuals. It's best to do some research and patch test a new oil before incorporating it into your skincare routine.

Overall, incorporating plant oils into your skincare routine can offer numerous benefits for the skin and the environment. They are natural, nourishing, and versatile ingredients that can help improve overall skin health without any harsh chemicals or additives. So next time you're looking for a new moisturiser or facial oil, consider reaching for a plant-based option like ours.
